Welcome to Rainbodhi Singapore LGBTQIA+ Buddhist Community

Rainbodhi Singapore is a spiritual friendship group dedicated to fostering mindfulness, compassion, and wisdom within the LGBTQIA+ community and beyond. Rooted in the teachings of the Buddha, we create a safe and supportive space for meditation, Dhamma discussions, and social connection, embracing the diversity of all beings. Everyone is welcome—regardless of race, gender, sexuality, ability, or spiritual background.

Our name, Rainbodhi, reflects our commitment to harmony and awakening: the rainbow symbolizes the beautiful diversity of our community, while bodhi represents the path to enlightenment and the realization of our interconnectedness.

Our Publication

The resources shared by Rainbodhi Singapore go far beyond printed words — they represent a heartfelt commitment to nurturing a more inclusive and compassionate Buddhist community, while fostering connection with other queer faith groups across Singapore. Each book and magazine is created to spark understanding, gently challenge assumptions, and invite moments of learning and self-reflection. They offer guidance for personal growth and ethical living, rooted in the deep truth that compassion, acceptance, and love are at the core of our shared humanity. 🧡

Welcoming the Rainbow:
A Guide to LGBTQIA+ Inclusion for Buddhists

Welcoming the Rainbow is Rainbodhi’s new resource promoting awareness and understanding of diversity for Buddhists in temples, organisations and retreat centres. It introduces basic LGBTQIA+ terminology and explains practical steps Buddhist organisations can take to help make Buddhist spaces more safe and welcoming for LGBTQIA+ people.

The guide is produced by Rainbodhi LGBTQIA+ Buddhist Community, a spiritual friendship group and advocate for more inclusion and diversity in the broader Buddhist community. Written by Rainbodhi founder, Bhante Akāliko and filled with gorgeous illustrations by Venerable Yodha, the booklet was made with input from LGBTQIA+ Buddhists and printed with the generous support of donors from around the world.
